Metlika
The Metlika wine cellar is one of the most recognizable pillars of the Metlika Agricultural Cooperative. The tradition dates back to 1909, when the first Wine Cooperative in Metlika was founded. We remember some big milestones since then. In 1968, the first bottle of Metliška črnina was bottled in our cellar. In 1981 we produced the first Slovenian Rose, in 1986 the first ice wine in the former Yugoslavia.
With its unique tunnel-type shape, the cellar is a real feast for the eyes and a place for pleasant wine pampering. It is 108 meters long, completely underground, with a constant temperature between 12 and 13 degrees Celsius. We produce approximately 600,000 liters of wine a year, and in addition to 26 hectares of our own vineyards, we also take over and buy grapes from just over 100 Bela Krajina winegrowers for our own needs.
Modra Frankinja Prestige
The blue Franconian is the best one among the reds in White Carniola. The high quality of this wine is obtained by a careful selection of grapes during harvest and a highly reliable wine making technological process. The flavour of this wine is enriched by several years of maturation in barrique barrels made of French oak, which have capacity of 225 litres. Given its long maturation in barrelas and then in bottles, it is very important that the served wine has the right temperature, which is between 16 and 18 ° C. It matches well with venison dishes and various mushrooms, and it also likes to flirt with more spicy cheeses.
